Finding services and resources for People with Parkinson’s (PwP) is easy using Google search.

Most states have an organization that provides information and referral, training, and other support to People with Parkinson’s and their Care Partners.  Search for Parkinson’s Support Organizations in (fill in the name of your state). Many offer listings of movement classes for PwP: get your class listed in their directory.

In addition, the American Parkinson’s Disease Association is a nationwide network of resource providers.  Through their regional chapters, you can search for support groups in your community. These groups are always looking for speakers. Get in contact and go talk to them.

Here are resources related to movement with Parkinson’s disease if you want to learn about what is out there or deepen your own skill set.  The PD-specific exercises from PWR!Moves and Delay the Disease can provide many ideas for Awareness Through Movement® lessons. Look for weekend training opportunities they offer around the US.  Dance for PD offers monthly on-line streamed video classes as well as periodic trainings.
