Ruthy Alon
1930-2020
The Feldenkrais® community has lost a great teacher. FGNA would like to share with our community the tribute letter sent to her daughter. Thank you, Ruthy.
Dear Iris,
It is with great sadness we share the loss of your mother, our beloved Ruthy Alon. Our hearts ache with you and hold you closely in these times.
It was our pleasure at the 2018 Feldenkrais® Guild conference, in Washington DC to honor Ruthy with a Lifetime Achievement award for her contributions to the method and our community. Her brilliant thinking and innovation has helped thousands of people over many decades. Her students, both of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education and Movement Intelligence will continue on her name teaching her beautiful body of work.
She always taught with loving kindness and generosity from the roots from which she came. Being one of Moshe’s original students, her insight into the work was profound. She continued to learn more and bring it to the public while making it easily accessible for everyone. Her dedication to Moshe’s work from the beginning times on Alexander Yanai through her training in Israel and her ongoing work as a trainer and teacher influenced the Feldenkrais community including the future generations.
We are forever thankful for the light she shone on all of us.
In love and gratitude,
