Supporting and Growing the Practice of ATM® Teaching

July 12 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm EDT

Biological development, both in an evolutionary sense and in the way we learnt to move as children, led us from rolling to creeping, to crawling, bringing our center of gravity ever higher until we could run, jump, squat, kick, and throw. Often as not, though we have these functions in mind, we allow our Feldenkrais® teaching to remain somewhere between the embryonic phase and all the pleasant possibilities for rolling around on the ground.
But what are we preparing for? How can we teach in such a way that people are truly supported in the activities of their life, and regain affinity and joy in physical capability?
In this meeting with you, I would like to offer you an Awareness Through Movement® lesson which includes dynamic elements and emphasizes moving into physical competence. I have taught it in many public classes, workshops, and retreats, resulting in a surprising amount of joy and fun. Our method is a means to an end – let’s bring it from the floor into life! (Kathryn Hume-Cook)

Join Kathryn Hume-Cook in conversation and an ATM® Teacher. This is sponsored by Feldenkrais Education of New England, Inc., which will be applying for accreditation for ATM® Teacher Training Program in the Boston area with Kathryn and Olena Nitefor.
