Elusive Safety: Finding Center – A Class for Queer Folx & Allies
September 30 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT

This Awareness Through Movement® lesson explores the central line of the spine — its organization right to left, and its lengthening top to bottom — as a way of researching what “center” means functionally in the body, not just conceptually. Through small, differentiated movements, we’ll investigate how the spine coordinates lateral and vertical organization in relationship to the whole self, refining self-image and orientation to midline. As clarity in this pattern increases, so often does a felt sense of returning to center — in the body, and in oneself.
Elusive Safety is a monthly, queer-centered somatic class held over Zoom. The 45-minute ATM® lesson is followed by 15 minutes of live-only community connection — unrecorded time held specifically for queer folx to be together in their bodies without needing to explain or translate their experience. Allies are welcome as guests: to listen and witness, not to center their own process.
Offered free this month as part of Fall Feldenkrais Awareness Week (Sept 25–Oct 4). No prior experience with the Feldenkrais Method® is necessary — all movement can be adapted, including staying still and simply noticing.
