SUMMARY:Lengthening and the 5 Lines
DESCRIPTION:The sense of lengthening in the spine and limbs can make an important difference to the ease of our movement and our whole sense of ourselves. We can learn to make all our activities feel lighter and easier with the image of the 5 lines.

SUMMARY:Freeing the Neck and Shoulders: An Experiential Feldenkrais® Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join me for an exploration of the neck and shoulders through the relationships that support them. \nWith an Awareness Through Movement® Lesson as our foundation\, we’ll explore how the neck and shoulders relate to the ribs\, spine\, shoulder girdle\, head\, and breath\, and the rest of you. Along the way\, we’ll weave in functional anatomy\, gentle myofascial exploration as additional ways of sensing and understanding these relationships. \nCome as you are – ready to move\, sense\, experiment\, and perhaps discover something new in the familiar. Follow your curiosity!

SUMMARY:Correlative Assessment for Practitioners\, Therapists\, & Somatic / Bodywork Professionals – A Skeletal Continuity Feldenkrais® Perspective
DESCRIPTION:Most typically\, the symptoms and problems our clients or patients bring to us exist in the category of chronic pain and / or movement difficulty and occurring within a particular body region or part. \nHowever\, the atypical solution exists more sustainably & systemically – not so much within an isolated body part or region – but rather in the relationship between parts\, and especially in how one’s experience of relationship between parts is perceptually correlated (and / or mis-correlated or disconnected) in the use of whole self. \nIn this demonstration mini-workshop\, Dr Tim Sobie\, PT\, PhD\, and Feldenkrais Method Practitioner® will introduce his 30+ years’ experience in developing a Feldenkrais + Physical Therapy-based “Correlative Assessment” to help clarify & identify invariant patterns (habits)\, and self-perpetuating common determinants in faulty self-organization being cross-correlated across 4 categories of observation + 4 contexts of body position / orientation & within the predictable-structural framework of ‘skeletal continuity.’ \nThrough this\, practitioners can build a ‘first impression trust-empathy-confident relevance’ relationship upon meeting the client for the first time.

SUMMARY:Lesson for Soul Maturity – Improve Your Digestibility of Life
DESCRIPTION:Lesson for Soul Maturity – Improve Your Digestibility of Life\nPart2 of  The 2-Part Free Introductory Seminar & Workshop\nMy Feldenkrais® practice focuses on the maturity of our soul. Dr. Feldenkrais learned Judo\, a Japanese martial art that has the common purpose of the Study of Self\, which is also aligned with Zen Buddhism – Both having a common goal of maturing our soul. \nWhen we stagnate with excess tension within our physical self\, it is difficult to mature our soul. Maturing our soul means moving forward in our daily life. So the more you stagnate with excess tension\, the more difficult it is for you to move forward. \nAlso\, as described in Eastern Medicine\, excess tension is a result of undigested emotional energy that is caused by improper interaction between all vital organs.  In particular\, for proper brain function\, proper posture\, and spiritual growth\, it is necessary to restore the balance and harmony between those organs\, which will improve our energy digestion and reduce excess tension\, in order to mature our soul and move forward. \nAs such\, our digestive function is not only for digesting food\, but more importantly\, for digesting our experiences and emotions. \nMakiko will introduce you to how to attain our soul maturity via the Feldenkrais Method®. \nMakiko is a Feldenkrais Method® practitioner since 2006\, as well as a GAPS Diet practitioner and Nutritional Consultant. \nRegistration by email only to infoatNHA@gmail.com\, and the subject needs to be Feldenkrais® Week Event\nEvent date\, time\, and time zone \nPart 1- from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm EST on Thursday\, October 1st – Seminar with Q&A \nPart 2 – from 1 pm to 3 pm EST on Saturday\, October 3rd – ATM® Lesson with Q&A\, Online & Possible physical location TBA in NYC \nLocation:  Both parts are Online; However\, Part 2 may also be held at a Manhattan location (to be confirmed)
