We’re often taught that exercise means pushing harder and ignoring discomfort. But what if paying attention is not the opposite of challenging yourself, but a different way of doing it?
And what if being kinder to yourself could actually be part of getting results?
Most of us learned early that exercise should hurt a little. Ignore the twinge. Finish the set. No pain, no gain. So we override the signals our bodies send, and then wonder why the same knee, back or shoulder keeps flaring up.
The Feldenkrais Method treats those signals as information. When you pay close attention to how you move, you find the places where you’re working too hard, the places that have gone quiet, and new ways to take on a real challenge with an approach that really works.
Please join our Myths of Exercise Summit and Dorothy who takes on the myth of “just push through.”
