In an Awareness Through Movement® class, you are verbally directed through a series of small, gentle movements. Questions about your sensory experience help guide your attention through small, gentle movements to increase your awareness of how your body responds to each movement, so you can discover and clarify connections within yourself. Students often leave feeling more grounded and with more freedom in how they move.
Classes are conducted in a non-competitive, non-judgmental way, with everyone going at their own pace. Slowing down is always encouraged, because the slower you are moving, and the more time you give yourself to feel what is happening, the more accurate your movements and attention can become.
